Professional packaging pricing involves multiple interdependent variables — raw material grade, print process, order scale, and fixed tooling. This calculator models the complete cost structure used by B2B packaging manufacturers.
Monocartons (folding carton board, 230–400 GSM) are ideal for retail shelf display: cosmetics, pharma, food supplements, and FMCG. Corrugated boxes (3-ply to 7-ply, 14–24 BF) are used for shipping and secondary packaging requiring structural protection during transit. For e-commerce brands, a corrugated mailer often eliminates the need for a separate inner monocarton.
230 GSM is the minimum for folding cartons (often used for budget cosmetics). 280–350 GSM is the industry standard for pharmaceutical and food packaging. 400 GSM ivory board is used for premium gifting, electronics, and luxury brands. Corrugated board GSM-equivalent ranges from 450 GSM (3-ply E-flute) to 1,400 GSM (7-ply C-flute heavy-duty crates).
